Major
Major is my 17-year-old Thoroughbred show horse. It would be impossible to talk about Major without mentioning my friend and Major’s trainer, Kelli Brown, who is lovingly referred to as Major’s Sidekick. (She also posed for “Stephanie” in my Depth of Deceit book trailer.) Major won Novice Horse of the Year in 2008 in Eventing (dressage, stadium jumping and cross-country jumping). In 2009, we decided to concentrate on dressage since Major is getting older and I didn’t want him jumping higher. He won Reserve Champion First Level Dressage in 2009 and in 2010 he won Reserve Champion Second Level Dressage. This show season we will be showing Third Level Dressage. That will be an adventure.
Major craves attention and becomes jealous if “his people” pay attention to other horses. He is my lovable gentleman ninety-five percent of the time, or he can be a handful (five percent of the time). It’s eventful trying to decide just when that five percent is going to show up.
Major and Kelli appear on the cover of my book Depth of Deceit.
